My husband is no Rob Petrie
Readers of Ms. Elaine Kneeous know that I’m a huge fan of the old sitcom The Dick Van Dyke Show. There are so many ways that Laura Petrie and I are kindred spirits. But Kevin, well, he’s no Rob. And I s’pose that’s a good thing. Take this situation, for example:
Nine years ago today, Kevin changed my world in ways I couldn’t have imagined. There have been many happy moments in my life because of him but that’s one of the Top Three. And it didn’t resemble Rob’s proposal in the least.
He and I have been talking a lot lately about Fate and how things that are meant to be just work out when they’re supposed to. Neither one of us was prepared to meet the one when we were introduced. But you know the phrase: “Kismet.”
