Ms. Elaine Kneeous

Jennifer is a one in a million stay-at-home mom. (More like one OF a million stay at home moms!) She graduated from a liberal arts college but there is nothing liberal OR artsy about her. She is married to Kevin Fischer of This Just In, and together they have a beautiful young daughter Kyla Audrey. In no particular order she loves dogs, wine, a good bargain, her family, pizza, and entertaining. Follow her blog of all things miscellaneous including but not limited to cooking and baking, entertaining and party planning, being a mommy, and homekeeping.

Are your Swag Bags ready?

Are you hosting your own Oscars party tonight?  Many of my favorite party planning & entertaining blogs have been posting great ideas on how to have your own fabulous red carpet soiree.  (Leave it to the one and only Amy Atlas to have the most incredible ideas!)

When Kevin hit a milestone birthday a few years ago, I threw a Hollywood-themed bash because I couldn’t resist the phrase “A star was born.”  That was even before I was enthralled with, and captured by, party styling.  I had a blast planning & executing the huge surprise.  However, the stress of keeping everything a total secret from a man I share space with 24/7 was enough to kill me!

So I’m not 100% down on Hollywood; the glitz and glamour have it’s place and there are a few stars out there that I can stomach for a few moments (before they kick in to high gear of supporting liberal causes instead of just giving an old-fashioned acceptance speech.)

Honestly I’m not sure how much, if any, of the show I will watch tonight.  Kyla will keep me busy with reading, doing puzzles, and watching Angelina Ballerina movies.  I will also be working on my OWN over-the-top soiree that’s happening in about a month:  her third birthday celebration.  To me, that is far more important than hearing “I’d like to thank my producer” a hundred times.

So to get back to my question:  Are you hosting an Oscars party tonight?  If so, what will the goodie bags you send with each guest contain this year?  WHAT?????  You’re NOT giving them gift certificates for a $15,000 African safari????  What kind of hostess ARE you?  Clearly, not the kind that entertains the H-wood elite.  Maybe next year you can amp it up a bit and think about including some of these take-homesAnd then, maybe your guests won’t notice you’re serving chips and dip & cocktail weenies.
