3RD UPDATE: Voting for Franklin School Board is very easy
Previously on This Just In…we reported that Franklin School Board candidate Donald Petre, a WEAC union activist does not have the required disclaimer printed on his yard signs. That would be the fine print that informs who paid for the campaign sign.
In typical union fashion, Petre feels he can ignore election law.
Now I receive word that current board member Judith Bialk who is up for re-election distributed campaign literature recently that also is missing the required disclaimer.
Generally, this isn’t a major bone of contention for the voters. You don’t see them pulling over to park to take a close-up glance at a sign to see if it complies with election laws. This matter is pretty low on their priority list.
However, this is important. An elected official and candidates for public office need to understand the most basic of requirements, including a simple financial disclaimer on a yard sign. Bialk, as an incumbent, has no excuses leading one to believe she merely doesn’t care or is incompetent.
Her illegal flyer says she wants to remain on the board, not because she wants to improve the quality of education in our district, improve student performance, attendance, test scores, but because she wants to give back to the community.
If that’s the case, I submit Bialk volunteer her time at the library or for seniors or veterans. That would be far more productive than serving another term on the school board only to be a yes woman for every instruction from Superintendent Patz, a yes woman to every tax increase, a yes woman to every spending proposal, stealing limited resources from Franklin families that could use those hard-earned dollars for college funds, investments, or well-deserved vacations.
Bialk needs to retire and retire for good. And if she won’t do it on her own, then voters need to do it for her.
Petre, by his refusal to follow election law tells you what kind of school board member he would be. On a recent comment he placed on FranklinNOW, he omitted his union credentials.
And word is he took down the Recall Walker sign on his property after the sign was reported on my blog. Obviously he is ashamed and afraid to let voters know his true colors and is implementing a typical cowardly ploy of the left of moving to the right during an election, only to revert to his real liberal ways once put in office.
Bialk and Petre can’t abide by the most innocuous election laws. Neither one deserves your vote.
