I am posting this guest blog for Michele Kaluzny, a Greenfield resident. Not my usual "feel good" and happy writing, this is critical information coming from a very concerned mother. Our most precious commodity, our children, are at risk once again because of scum like this:

He was convicted in 2004 of first degree sexual assault of a child. The 41-year-old man is considered "high-risk" because the crime was against a child, and because of his noncompliant status and lack of a job.
I have a child that attends the school very near this monster and although the school has been in contact with us and I have the utmost faith that they will take every precaution necessary to protect our children the discussion my husband and I had to have with her was not pleasant. We, of course, have talked about staying away from strangers, but this discussion took on a more immediate tone making sure she knew what to do if she saw someone watching her on the playground or came to the school pretending to be a parent or teacher. Knowing that Jay Stroschin could be watching our kids while they are at soccer practice or playing at recess is sickening.
Of course he will be monitored by GPS, but I am sure we have all heard of stories where even though they are being monitored they find a way to offend.
Now, I know that some people out there talk about rehabilitation and giving people a second chance and some may even take offense to my using names like animal and monster, but that is the best description of these people. As far as I am concerned if you sexually abuse a child even once you are not fit to live in society, but why on earth someone who is considered a high risk sex offender and non compliant would even be released much less released next to a school is horrifying to me.
