Two GOP Stooges Make The News
Scott Walker's lap dog from Racine, Republican Representative Robin Vos wants to make a constitutional Amendment that would make recalls of elected officials only possible if they are actually charged with breaking a law - www.nbc15.com/news/headlines/Republican_Lawmaker_Proposes_Making_Recalls_More_Difficult_127498413.html
Here is the problem with that - WI was the first state to allow a recall process so that the people can remove an elected official if he or she is not performing as promised or is going against the will of the people. To recall an official because he committed a crime like drunk driving or illegal gambling, but leaving him in office after he votes to negatively effect the lives of millions of citizens so that he can give tax breaks to large corporations so that he can in exchange get large campaign donations is absurd.
Recalling an elected official recalled because of their voting record makes more sense than recalling an offical because of their personal lifestyle choices. Just think if JFK were impeached because of his infidelity, or FDR for that matter?
I also think that Vos and Walker know Democrats and independents smell blood in the water and that Walker is next to get recalled and they simply want to change or slow down the process. Wimps!
And this just in: "Corporations are People!" ~ Mitt Romney www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/08/11/mitt-romney-heckled-iowa_n_924426.html
That's right folks, Mitt Romney told people at the Iowa State Fair that "Corporations are people, my friend." Does that mean that everyone who works for a corporation gets to vote twice - once as themselves (actual people) and once as a member of a corporation, or do only the board of directors get to vote twice? Or maybe just the CEO votes twice. Or maybe the corproation gets one vote per every million dollars of net worth? I am confused . . .
. . . and if corporations are people why don't they use the same tax structure as actual people? Is this what right-wingers actual belive, that corporations are people? Do corporations have a pulse? Do corporations have to miss work because of a new baby or a death in the family? Do corporations have to struggle to find child care when their kid wakes up sick 45 minutes before school? Do corporations have to wonder if their child is $500 sick on a Saturday night when the only doctor they can go to is the ER doctor and their insurance SUCKS?
Corporations are NOT people! What the hell kind of a belief system is that? I thought Romney was a Mormon, but apparently he is a corporatarian.
