State Senator Mary Lazich (R-New Berlin) represents parts of four counties: Milwaukee, Waukesha, Racine, and Walworth. Her Senate District 28 includes New Berlin, Franklin, Greendale, Hales Corners, Muskego, Waterford, Big Bend, the town of Vernon and parts of Greenfield, East Troy, and Mukwonago. Senator Lazich has been in the Legislature for more than a decade. She considers herself a tireless crusader for lower taxes, reduced spending and smaller government.
National Tax Freedom Day
Today is national Tax Freedom Day, the day American workers earned enough money to pay their federal, state and local taxes.

Since regaining majorities in the Assembly and Senate, Republicans are working hard to create jobs, reduce government spending, and reduce the tax burden. Governor Walker’s budget proposal freezes property tax increases at zero percent, does not increase hunting and fishing license fees, and reduces the deficit to the lowest in recent history. I am pleased to work with Governor Walker and my colleagues within the Legislature to reduce the tax burden on hard-working Wisconsinites.
