Pete Kosovich for Franklin alderman, 4th district: As expected, the incumbent has gone negative

By guest blogger, Pete Kosovich, candidate for Franklin alderman, 4th district

I've been working the doors, 5-6 hours a day on weekends, and printing, folding & planning during the week. I'm receiving very positive responses at the doors, and have spoken to many great people. Elections are April 5th. They're coming fast. I'm ready.

I
have seen my opponents first two pieces. Real pretty! Colorful, glossy and with pictures too! WOW!

He implies that as an Alderman, I wasn't vocal & assertive enough. I have been vocal & assertive when necessary, without sounding pompous, arrogant & disrespectfull.

His pieces make it sound as if I was soundly thrashed and thrown out in disgrace. FALSE!  I only lost by 10 votes. The weekend before the election, there were people that didn't know I had an opponent. Months after the election, I was still receiving calls from constituents who thought I was their Alderman. Mayor TOM Taylor was in a high profile Mayoral race, and people were anxious to vote for Taylor. I support TOM Taylor. This time Mayor TOM Taylor is running unopposed. No worries!

I was asked a question from a constituant. What differentiates me from my opponent? I answered, I am not a career politician. I am a small business owner in Franklin. I have served my customers for 31 years & I know the meaning of commitment. It is said that behind every good man is a good woman. I have my wife Sherry of 33 years. We have been active members of St Paul's Lutheran Church in Franklin for 30 years. I am committed to serving the people of Franklin, not advancing my political career. Where's his commitment, and where does his next political ambition lie?  I support Jeff Stone for County Exec. I know that if Stone wins, Steve Taylor will run for State Rep.& leave Franklin hanging.

I have been asked at the doors, am I a Democrat or Republican. I answer, I am a Conservative, Christian, Republican, & I support what Scott Walker is doing to bring our fiscal house in order. This may upset some, but you know where I stand. I won't suck up for a Union endorsement.

Wednesday March 16th. there will be a candidates forum at The Franklin Library at 6:30. The MC will be blogger John Michlig. We'll see if he can be fair and unbiased. I was called by a supporter who was concerned that I might be set up. I said I would be there, but If I sense that is the case, I won't participate.

I believe no one is perfect, but I am trying. I'm working hard to win your confidence & your vote. Please be sure to vote April 5th for Pete Kosovich, 4th District Alderman. I won't disappoint you!

Thanks.

Sincerely,

Pete Kosovich
Candidate for Franklin 4th District Alderman
