This Just In ...

Kevin Fischer is a veteran broadcaster, the recipient of over 150 major journalism awards from the Milwaukee Press Club, the Wisconsin Associated Press, the Northwest Broadcast News Association, the Wisconsin Bar Association, and others. He has been seen and heard on Milwaukee TV and radio stations for over three decades. A longtime aide to state Senate Republicans in the Wisconsin Legislature, Kevin can be seen offering his views on the news on the public affairs program, "InterCHANGE," on Milwaukee Public Television Channel 10, and heard filling in on Newstalk 1130 WISN. He lives with his wife, Jennifer, and their lovely young daughter, Kyla Audrey, in Franklin.

That's some water bill!

Buried in a box somewhere on the Fischer property is a cassette tape of a story I produced while working at WTMJ that I was fortunate to win an award. It featured an exclusive about Republican Wisconsin Congressman Tom Petri.  Petri blew the whistle on his fellow members of Congress that were receiving a daily quotient of free bottled water in their offices.

Making the story more significant was that Petri put the kibosh on the bottled water as Milwaukee was suffering through its Cryptosporidium outbreak in the 90’s.

For over 15 years, I thought the story was over. Foolish me.

Bottled water is back on the perks list in Congress. Tough guy/conservative columnist Chuck Norris lists that and a whole bunch on other spending outrages in his latest column.

Read and prepare to be angry.
