Sometimes, the Lord works in not so mysterious ways

Since 1979, Affiliated Medical Services has been operating an abortion clinic at 1428 N. Farwell Avenue in Milwaukee. Their website claims to offer “quality abortion care.” My, but that’s reassuring.

Recently, the Women’s Care Center opened at 1441 N. Farwell Avenue. Services include pregnancy testing, information on all options, ultrasounds, and referrals to medical and social services.

You will note the proximity of the two, just across the street from each other. An interesting phenomenon has evolved due to the location of these two facilities. Some might even call it miraculous.

The Women’s Care Center reports in its latest newsletter that in its first few weeks of operation, it experienced at least two dozen “wrong doors.” Women and couples seeking abortions thought they were walking into Affiliated when they actually stopped at the Women’s Care Center across the street.

Abel and Marilu had given birth three months ago and were surprised to learn they were expecting again. The prospect seemed daunting. Both were working full-time and felt having another baby so soon would be difficult.

When Abel and Marilu entered the “wrong door,” they met with an ultrasound tech who offered counseling and ultrasound pictures. After being told about the physical and emotional risks of abortion, Abel said he could no longer go through with the procedure. Marilu immediately agreed.

Ultrasounds are powerful. Over 95 percent of those who see an ultrasound at the Women's Care Center decide to have their babies.

“Wrong doors” equal more innocent unborn babies escaping the slaughter of abortion.

Abel said, “I can’t believe we came to the wrong place.” The ultrasound tech replied, “No, you came into the right place.”

The Women’s Care Center is holding an open house on Sundays October 17, 24, and 31 from 1:00 - 3:00.
