Maybe Dwight Howard really is Superman

Think professional athlete. Many descriptive terms probably come to mind.

Overpaid.

Egotistical.

Self-centered.

Prima donna.

Arrogant.

Spoiled.

Coddled.

How about……

Hero?

One athlete I truly admire and respect is Derek Fisher of the Los Angeles Lakers.

His love and dedication is to a family member. Another NBA star’s devotion was to a complete stranger.

Athletes more often than not prefer not to give of their time or themselves. Shunning autograph seekers, public appearances, and media opportunities, jocks are to blame for their bad reputations.

More need to be like Dwight Howard of the NBA’s Orlando Magic. Howard gave his personal time to a special fan, but that’s all the fan wanted who also just happens to be a hero.

It’s quite a story, one you don’t have to be a sports fan to truly appreciate.
