THE WEEKEND DOG-WALKING FORECAST: We grade the weather outlook for taking your pet outdoors.

TODAY:  Sunny and very windy. High of 66.  "B"

SUNDAY:  Partly cloudy. High of 74. "A"

MONDAY:  Partly cloudy. High of 80.  “A”

Here’s my lovely wife, Jennifer with this week’s main blog:

Within reasonable limits, I’m all for spoiling your pet.  (Yes, even if you own a cat.  Indulge the feline too.)  Growing up, all our pets were pampered.  In fact more than one person had made the comment that when they died, they wanted to be reincarnated as an animal in our family.

Oh yes, they had special meals made for them… birthdays were celebrated…  Christmas presents were under the tree for them… our dogs had sweaters for the cold winter season… you get the picture.  Since doggy spas, doggy day cares and doggy day camps weren’t popular 25 years ago they didn’t enjoy any of those experiences.  But I’m sure they would have!

All the love, pampering, and amenities offered to our family pets were at our own expense.  We didn’t expect anyone else to pay for treats & gifts.  I don’t think any reasonable pet owner would count on others to foot the bill for the paws in their family.

So why is this not only accepted but hardly mentioned in the mainstream press?  There is so much wrong with this situation that I don’t even know where to begin.  You’re reading The Barking Lot on This Just In so you’re obviously smarter than the average bear… you can come up with plenty of reasons on your own.

Doing a Google search, I could find no similar story about Barney taking a separate plane when he traveled with the Bush family.

I’m so glad the recession is over, there is a chicken in every pot, and every pothole is filled due to the stimulus package.  Now we taxpayers can make sure that Bo Obama is traveling in the luxe style he so deserves.
