SUPERVISOR TAYLOR AWARDS SCHOLARSHIP TO FRANKLIN STUDENT
Milwaukee, WI – Supervisor Taylor is proud to announce the first winner of this year’s “Steve F. Taylor Future Leaders of Franklin Scholarship.” With his own personal funds, Supervisor Taylor has awarded a $500 scholarship to Charlotte Kanyuh, a Junior at Franklin High School. Scholarship applicants were asked to write about the qualities of a good public servant and why public service is important to the community. Each applicant also went through a short interview. Franklin Municipal Judge and Former Mayor Fred Klimetz also participated in the review and selection process.
“Our young people are our future, and some day one of these young people will also serve on Legislative bodies like the County Board or Common Council,” Supervisor Taylor said. “We need to start grooming future generations of public officials.”
Last year, Kanyuh participated in the United States Congressional Page Program. She is interested in studying political science and law. For additional information, including instructions for Franklin residents who wish to apply or contribute next year, email Supervisor Taylor at email@example.com.
